The journey began with a spark of inspiration and a deep desire to create something meaningful. Over time, that vision has grown into a fashion brand shaped by thoughtful design, quality, creativity, and a commitment to making a difference.

More Than a Fashion Brand

Seawater is more than a fashion brand. It represents the strength, skill, and potential of local women, creating meaningful opportunities through thoughtful design and responsible production.

We create timeless lifestyle womenswear in Sri Lanka, working closely with skilled local makers, including women who sew from home. By keeping our production close to home, we aim to support local skills and livelihoods while building meaningful connections within our community.

At Seawater, we believe clothing should be made with purpose and valued for longer. We focus on thoughtful design, quality fabrics, and creating pieces that can become part of a person’s wardrobe and life for years to come.

Thoughtful Choices, Better Use of Resources

We work primarily with breathable natural fibre fabrics such as cotton and linen. Our materials come from carefully selected premium fabrics sourced from suppliers as well as quality deadstock fabrics sourced from Sri Lankan export garment factories.

By incorporating suitable deadstock fabrics into our collections, we give off-cut materials a new purpose and help keep valuable textile resources in use.

We also believe that the value of a fabric does not end when a garment is completed. Wherever possible, we collect and reuse our fabric offcuts. Through our sister initiative, NadzEssentials, Seawater’s offcuts are transformed into useful everyday products, giving leftover materials another purpose and helping reduce the amount of textile material that goes unused as part of waste management.

Our approach is centred on making thoughtful use of resources, designing products to be valued for longer, and encouraging more mindful consumption.
